Iron Casting Foundry Case Study

Granada were approached by an iron casting foundry to replace some of their aging crane systems after completing similar work for one of their clients.

Three single girder overhead cranes were supplied each featuring underslung SWF Krantechnik Nova hoists. Pendant control was requested by the client as they had previously tried using radios but found they were often put down onto hot surfaces and damaged, To still have the ability to get low around the ladel during smelting extra long pendant cables were supplied.

The wire rope hoists were specified for high temperature working and detachable heat shields were also supplied. Since being installed in 2017 these cranes have operated issue free for 3 years in this harsh environment
