One of our long standing customers, themselves a leader in the material handling industry through the innovative design and production of (VNA) Very Narrow Isle Fork Lift Trucks, had a new requirement for an overhead crane and gantry system.

With height and space being an issue it was essential to achieve maximum hook coverage and height with minimal obstruction. This led to investigating all available avenues of design to be able to come up with the right solution for the application.

The SWF ‘low headroom’ crab unit used meant that we were able to offer the maximum height of lift required while keeping the crane’s own structure out of reach of obstructions.

This project has proven to be such a success that the customer is already looking at the option of extending the system and adding an additional crane.

System shown is a double girder design top running overhead crane with a capacity of 2,000Kg, supported by 36m of free-standing gantry at a span of 7.5m.
